What is the reason why the scrotum is moist and has peculiar smell? What are some tips to prevent scrotal dampness
Scrotal moisture can be said to be a relatively common male disease, but we must learn to prevent it in our daily life. Do you know how to prevent scrotal moisture?
How is scrotum moist?
It is well known that the two testicles in the scrotum produce sperm, but the testicles pay attention to the temperature conditions for sperm production, which is most suitable for about 35 degrees. Beyond this temperature, the spermatogenic ability will be blocked and completely stopped. However, the scrotum has a great function, that is, it can cool down by itself. It is achieved in the following ways:
1. The skin is very thin, and the sweat glands are rich. If the temperature of the surrounding environment or the body interior rises slightly, the scrotal skin will sweat and dissipate heat. This is one of the reasons why the scrotum is wet
2. There are many wrinkles in the skin, which increases the skin surface area, increases the sweating and heat dissipation surface area, and wet scrotum is a normal physiological phenomenon
3. The skin is rich in blood vessels, which can quickly take away excess heat from the scrotum
4. There is thin skin under the scrotal skin, which is sensitive to temperature changes. When the temperature in the scrotum rises, it relaxes, and the surface area of the scrotal skin expands, which is easy to sweat and dissipate heat. On the contrary, when the temperature inside the scrotum drops, it contracts, reducing the surface area of the scrotum skin and reducing the heat dissipation through sweating;
5. The scrotum hangs outside the body viscera, which reduces the influence of body viscera temperature.
