What disease is the disappearance of testicles? Six common causes of testicular atrophy
Testicular atrophy refers to one of the symptoms of male testicular contraction and softening, also known as testicular atrophy. It is characterized by atrophy of one or both testicles. It is small and soft, often causing infertility, often occurring in mumps or trauma, and also congenital. There are many reasons for testicular atrophy. Please pay attention to the following points.
1. Virus infection
Virus infection is the most common cause of testicular atrophy in children and adolescents, especially mumps virus. After the testicle is attacked by the virus, the spermatogenic tissue in the testicle is destroyed, and the testicle is reduced in size and soft in texture.
2. Damage or collision
Collision injury, scrotal hematoma or testicular laceration occurs at the scrotum or testicle. Even if the injury is healed, the testicle is in a state of long-term blood supply insufficiency and atrophy.
3. Severe orchitis
Testicular swelling and pain can last for many days. Due to bacterial invasion, testicular tissue is destroyed and testicular tissue atrophy.
4. Effects of radioactive substances
If people who are exposed to radioactive substances for a long time, such as occupational personnel who are exposed to x-rays and isotopes, are not well protected, their testicles will atrophy.
5. Endocrine diseases
Testis is an endocrine organ, which mainly produces androgens. Many endocrine organs in the body, such as pituitary gland, adrenal gland, hypothalamus and other diseases, hinder testicular function and cause testicular atrophy.
6. Drug effects
Long-term use of toxic drugs, repeated use of anti-androgen estrogen drugs, testicular atrophy.
