Pediculosis is a kind of itchy skin disease caused by lice parasitic on human skin. The reaction to tick bites varies from person to person. Lindane( γ- HCB) has a high failure rate, and it has neurotoxicity. The 0.5% malathion lotion is a very effective louse killer, but it has been difficult to find in the United States for several years. Shampoo containing salicylic acid, a cutin remover, has an auxiliary effect in the treatment of head lice.
It is difficult to treat eyebrows and eyelashes when they are stained. Lice usually need to be removed with tweezers. Applying vaseline can eliminate or reduce lice on eyelashes. Infectious sources (combs, hats, clothes, bedding) need vacuum suction, thorough cleaning, steam ironing or dry cleaning. Recurrence is common.
Medication
The treatment principle is to kill insects and eggs. It is better to shave off the hair of head lice and pubic lice first. The commonly used drugs are 50% baibu tincture (Chinese medicine baibu is immersed in dilute alcohol or Baijiu, filtered for standby after 24h), 20% benzyl benzoate emulsion, etc. Then wash the hair with hot soapy water, and remove the lice and eggs with a comb. Or wash your hair with Baibu tincture, and then wrap it. Body lice can boil or iron clothes to kill lice and remove eggs. Bitter wood tincture is made from the stem of Bitter wood soaked with alcohol, and its effective ingredient is tetracycline lactone. For the treatment of head lice, the hair can be washed with Bitter wood tincture, and then dried. The tincture is left on the hair, washed off after 18 hours, once a week.
The acid can dissolve the shell of the attached dry lice eggs. Soak the hair of the head lice patient with 3% acetic acid or white vinegar solution, then wrap the head with a towel soaked with the same solution for 1h, then open the towel and comb the hair with a dense-tooth comb to remove the lice eggs.
Skin lesions can be smeared with 10% sulfur calamine lotion or treated symptomatically. Secondary infection can be treated with 0.5% neomycin ointment or erythromycin ointment.
