ED, also known as erectile dysfunction, is the "impotence" in the general population. "This is a word that should be avoided in the eyes of countless people, but surveys have shown that this disease is much more serious than you and I imagined, because behind an ED, there may be psychological factors, disease factors, or even life-threatening diseases, such as heart disease or tumors.".
ED is a kind of male, but sometimes it is also a symptom. Facing up to ED and the reasons behind it is not only to improve their quality of life, but also to save their lives.
At the recent Asia Pacific Men's Health Forum, experts announced the incidence rate of erectile dysfunction (ED) among Chinese men at all ages. Among men over 60 years old, 24% face ED problems. However, if doctors in ordinary departments can improve their sensitivity, they will significantly increase the incidence rate of recessive ED patients, and change the problem that many patients do not go to hospital when they are ill.
Better body, still get ED
"I'm fine elsewhere in my body, so why do I have this unspeakable problem?" This is the most commonly heard sentence in clinical andrology clinics. Many men usually feel that their bodies are twice as good and their meals are twice as delicious, but the ED problem can only be solved privately.
According to the survey conducted in China funded by Bayer Pharmaceutical Company, the incidence rate of ED among Chinese men aged 20-29 years old reached 2%; Up to 3% among 30 to 39 years of age; 4% of people aged 40 to 49, 7% of people aged 50 to 59, and 24% of people aged 60 or later.
However, in terms of self perception of health, 5% of ED patients feel that their health status is "very poor", 10% feel "relatively poor", and only 11% feel "very good". However, 41% and 33% of ED patients still feel that their health status is "average" and "relatively good", which is not what ordinary people imagine. "Men with ED must be relatively weak.".
In this regard, the reporter consulted Professor Xu Fusong, the chief physician of the andrology department of Jiangsu Provincial Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine, who told the reporter, "The incidence rate of ED is certainly related to age, but not necessarily all ED is related to the body. We have met some athletes in clinical practice, whose physical quality is not always good, but there are also ED problems“
He introduced that there are many reasons for ED, which can be divided into psychological factors and physical factors. Of course, some lifestyle factors may also have an impact. Young people tend to have a higher awareness of their own health status due to their good physical fitness and susceptibility to psychogenic ED; However, the physical quality of the elderly has significantly decreased, especially due to their susceptibility to certain primary diseases, resulting in ED. Therefore, the proportion of ED among elderly people over the age of 60 will rapidly increase.
Therefore, people who are in good health may not necessarily not get ED, while people who are not in good health are only more likely to cause ED, but they may not necessarily have ED problems.
