Polycystic ovary syndrome generally occurs in obese women of childbearing age. It is an endocrine disorder that, if not effectively treated, can lead to menstrual disorders, body obesity, the proliferation of melasma, and infertility in women.
Can polycystic ovary syndrome lead to sexual activity?
Women suffer from polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS), which is an endocrine disorder characterized by excessive secretion of male hormones and insulin resistance. Multiple factors can affect diseases, such as excessive obesity, substance abuse, insufficient exercise, excessive stress, and poor diet.
Sexual activity does not affect the hormone levels in a woman's body, so it is possible to have sex. However, if this disease is not effectively treated, it can cause the endometrium to be constantly stimulated by estrogen, thickening the endometrium, easily causing endometrial cancer, and even leading to female infertility.
Under what circumstances cannot women have sex?
1. Congenital malformation of genitalia
Genital congenital malformations mainly include closed or hypertrophic hymen, vaginal septum, failure to get effective treatment affects penis insertion, and unable to have normal sexual life. People with severe menstrual irregularities, such as high menstrual volume, long menstrual periods, and menstrual cycle disorders, should resume sexual activity after adjusting their menstrual cycle. Otherwise, the symptoms of sexual stimulation will worsen.
2. Sexual activity must be prohibited when there are tumors in the genitals and malignant tumors in the genitals, such as vulvar cancer and endometrial cancer, occur after induced abortion. Sexual activity can cause recurrence and metastasis of cancer cells, leading to bleeding. After induced abortion, sexual activity is not allowed for about a month, otherwise it will increase damage to the endometrium and ovaries, leading to pelvic inflammatory disease.
3. After completing the angiography and cervical polyp surgery
Diagnosis of female infertility requires a fallopian tube imaging examination to see if the fallopian tubes are blocked. Avoid sexual activity three days before the imaging and one month after the surgery, otherwise it may trigger adnexitis. Cervical polyps belong to benign masses, and sexual activity should be avoided three days before surgery and two weeks after surgery to avoid endometritis.
4. After cervical biopsy
When diagnosed with cervical cancer, a cervical biopsy must be performed, and tissue should be removed from the cervical opening for biopsy. After two weeks of examination, sexual intercourse is not allowed. In addition, avoid sexual activity three days before and one month after performing diagnostic curettage to avoid uterine infection.
If a woman experiences acute or chronic inflammation, such as vaginitis, vulvitis, salpingitis, and oophoritis, please try not to have sex. Because the sexual organs are in a state of high edema and congestion at this stage, the stimulation of sexual activity worsens congestion and causes pain.
