Sexual activity is an important part of our lives and a lubricant for marital relationships. However, due to various reasons, such problems can also occur during sexual activity, with sexual pain being one of them.
Pain during sexual intercourse is related to physiological diseases
Many women have experienced painful sexual intercourse, many of which are temporary, but for some women, this pain is long-term and persistent, with fear, aversion, and resistance to sexual intercourse. Pain during or after sexual intercourse can affect the pleasure of sexual activity, and long-term sexual pain ultimately leads to women's fear of sexual intercourse. There are many reasons for sexual pain, including physiological and psychological factors. However, data shows that 90% of sexual pain is related to physiology and diseases. If women frequently experience pain during sexual intercourse for a period of time, the first thing to pay attention to is whether there is gynecological inflammation such as vulvitis, vaginitis, and cervicitis.
Possible Diseases of Pain during Sexual intercourse
1. Urethritis or inflammation of the urethral opening: Local sexual activity is stimulated, and as the perineal muscles contract, the muscles around the urethra and perineum also contract synergistically. Spastic pain and discomfort reappear after a period of time in the room.
2. Suffering from vulvitis or vaginitis: These areas are inflamed, usually with local congestion and swelling, severe local congestion during sexual activity, mechanical stimulation during sexual activity, strong contraction of vaginal muscles during orgasm, and exacerbation of vaginal pain and discomfort.
3. Cervicitis or cervical erosion: Under direct stimulation during sexual intercourse, especially during orgasm, the contraction of the cervix can cause persistent discomfort in the vagina afterwards, and sometimes there may be a small amount of vaginal bleeding
4. Chronic pelvic inflammatory disease: It can cause pain or discomfort during sexual intercourse, and the degree of pain depends on the severity of the pelvic lesion and the patient's sensitivity to pain. Mild individuals may experience lower abdominal pain and swelling when lifting the door, while heavy individuals may not be able to engage in sexual intercourse if sexual intercourse ceases and disappears.
Psychological causes of sexual pain
1. Improper education. In terms of the current situation, whether it is family, school, or society, sex education is very insufficient and limited sex education teaches women that the most precious thing about female chastity, sexual intercourse, pregnancy, is the pleasure of men, and the pain of women, which is detrimental to sexual health. Some people are severely influenced by this ideology, especially in culturally backward areas. Before they get married, their minds are filled with anxiety, fear, and guilt. After getting married, feelings of anxiety, fear, shyness, self guilt, and absurd thoughts arise more naturally, which increases and hinders the enjoyment of sexual excitement and pleasure. In this situation, sexual pain and difficulty are inevitable.
