What is the incubation period for oral genital warts?
Oral genital warts are often located in the sublingual frenulum, on both sides of the tongue, and in the throat. When throat warts are large, symptoms such as hoarseness, difficulty swallowing, and throat discomfort may occur. Generally, the rash is papillary, cauliflower shaped, coronal or cobblestone shaped, ranging in size from mung beans to broad beans, with clear boundaries and a quantity of 1-10. The color of the rash is mostly light red or bright red, and it is prone to bleeding when touched. Under the microscope, it can be seen that the epidermis exhibits diffuse keratosis imperfecta and papillary tumor like hyperplasia, with obvious thickening of spinous cells, visible vacuolar cells, superficial dermal capillary dilation, and chronic inflammatory cell infiltration.
The incubation period of oral genital warts is 3-8 months, with an average of 3 months. It is commonly seen in sexually active young people and middle-aged men. Male patients with a peak onset age of 20-25 years and an average course of 3-5 months are generally caused by oral sex.
