Cervicitis is a common gynecological inflammation and one of the diseases we should pay attention to. We should also pay attention to its harmfulness in daily life, especially for the prevention of such inflammation.
Hazards of cervicitis
1. Inducing cervical cancer: According to relevant cancer prevention census data, 0.39% of patients with cervical inflammation suffer from cervical cancer, while 2.05% of those with cervical inflammation suffer from cervical cancer. This indicates that long-term untreated or incurable cervicitis is one of the causes of cervical cancer.
2. Impact on marital relationships: Severe cervicitis can lead to severe pain or bleeding symptoms during sexual activity, causing women to develop aversion, fear, and rejection towards sexual activity, thereby seriously affecting marital relationships and causing conflicts.
3. Infertility: When suffering from cervicitis, the cervical secretions are thick, forming mucus plugs, blocking the cervical canal, which is not conducive to sperm penetration. In addition, when inflammation occurs, secretions contain a large number of white blood cells that can envelop and engulf sperm. Affecting pregnancy and even leading to infertility
4. Induced abortion: Cervicitis is also a cause of miscarriage. Due to long-term vaginal bleeding, it can affect the normal defense mechanism of the body, making pregnant women prone to reproductive system infections. Moreover, long-term bleeding can promote the development of infections, leading to infection of the membranes and premature rupture of the membranes. At this point, with the loss of amniotic fluid, the conditions for normal fetal growth and development disappear, and miscarriage is inevitable.
Causes of cervicitis
1. Mechanical stimulation or injury: The occurrence of cervicitis is related to sexual activity. Natural or artificial abortion, diagnostic curettage, and delivery can cause cervical injury and inflammation. Adult women should pay attention to contraception, avoid or reduce artificial abortion surgery, pay attention to postpartum hygiene, and avoid postpartum infection.
2. Pathogenic infection: Cervicitis caused by childbirth, miscarriage, or surgical injury. Cervicitis can be treated with some professional traditional Chinese medicine, and the main pathogens are
(1) Sexually transmitted pathogens: gonorrhoea Neisseria and mycoplasma chlamydia.
(2) Endogenous pathogens: Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, Escherichia coli, anaerobic bacteria, etc.
(3) Other: There are trichomonas and amoebas in the protozoa. Special situations are caused by chemicals and radiation.
3. Chemical stimulation: Washing the vagina with potassium permanganate solution or placing suppositories in the vagina can cause cervicitis.
