The emergence of ovarian tumors has caused great pain to my women and is also a serious disease, especially when patients must receive formal treatment and also receive care after falling ill.
Treatment of ovarian tumors
1. Surgical treatment: The main treatment method is to first examine the abdominal cavity during surgery to determine the extent of the lesion and whether there is lymph node metastasis. During the surgery for stage I cancer, peritoneal fluid and peritoneal washing fluid should be sent for cytological examination. Try to perform complete hysterectomy and bilateral appendectomy, omentectomy, and appendectomy as much as possible. For young patients in stage Ia who have intact tumor membranes, low malignancy, and no tumor cells found in the abdominal fluid, only lateral appendectomy can be performed. Follow up strictly after surgery. When radical surgery is impossible, most tumors should be removed, followed by postoperative chemotherapy, and surgery should be performed again after the tumor has shrunk.
2. Chemotherapy: Ovarian cancer is sensitive to chemotherapy, and the most effective drug for long-term use is alkylating agents. Other drugs also have certain effects. The commonly used drugs currently include cyclophosphamide, aminoamide, phenylpropanoid nitrogen mustard, ganoderma, melphalan, tumor tranquilizer, 5-fluorouracil, hexamethane, cisplatin, doxorubicin, etc. Multiple courses of treatment can be repeated individually or in combination. The route of administration, in addition to systemic application, can also be administered intraperitoneally and injected through the inferior abdominal artery to achieve high local drug concentrations and enhance therapeutic effects.
3. Radiation therapy: Large area intraperitoneal injection, excessive tissue response, unbearable to patients, and limited application. In recent years, the application of high voltage band mobile multiple irradiation technology can reduce payment reactions and have a good effect in preventing tumor recurrence. Radioisotope 32P can also be injected into the abdominal cavity.
4. Disease free treatment: An auxiliary treatment method that has emerged in recent years, with the aim of enhancing the body's immune function and specifically killing tumor cells. It has now entered the clinical stage of use.
Precautions for treatment of ovarian tumors
1. Although diagnosed as a benign ovarian tumor before surgery, careful examination should be performed after laparotomy to further determine the location and nature for appropriate management. If it is not possible to distinguish between good and bad during surgery, rapid frozen section pathology examination should be performed.
