What is male impotence related to?
1. Age. So far, age is the most important factor affecting impotence. With the growth of age, this phenomenon becomes more and more common. The level of serum androgen secreted by men decreased significantly. The increase of age will change the structure of cavernous body. However, with the increase of age, the venous blood reflux capacity significantly decreases, and the prevalence of various diseases will also increase. All of the above, in varying degrees, lead to an increase in the incidence of disease with the increase of age.
2. Diabetes. Once suffering from diabetes. The vascular system and mental nervous system around the patient are affected. Affect male erectile function. Age of diabetes, blood sugar control of diabetes, hypertension and other factors will affect the severity of impotence.
3. Cardiovascular disease. Patients with cardiovascular diseases will cause insufficient blood supply of the artery from the heart to the cavernous body, which will affect penis erection. This disease is the main physical disease that affects impotence, including hypertension, myocardial infarction, peripheral vascular disease, etc.
4. Abnormal lipid metabolism. The data showed that men with total cholesterol (TC) greater than 240mg/dl had 1.83 times higher risk of ED than men with TC less than 180mg/dl. In MMAS (Massachusetts Aging Male Study), high-density lipoprotein has a negative relationship with the prevalence of ED.
5. Chronic prostatitis. Usually, patients with chronic prostatitis will be accompanied by sexual dysfunction such as decreased libido, ejaculation pain and penis erection difficulty. Symptoms such as testicular distension pain, penis discomfort and lower urinary tract caused by chronic prostatitis are not good for a long time, and patients' anxiety, depression, inferiority, energy loss, fatigue, doubt, insomnia and other adverse emotions and symptoms are also factors of impotence.
6. Chronic liver and kidney insufficiency. The probability of impotence in patients with alcoholic cirrhosis is 70%, and the probability of impotence in patients with chronic renal insufficiency is 45%.
7. Some antihypertensive drugs play an important role in the occurrence of ED, such as cardiac active drugs (cardiac glycoside), estrogen and luteinizing hormone releasing hormone analogues used to treat prostate cancer, and most drugs that can produce sedation or depression in the central nervous system can cause impotence.
8. Bad living habits such as long-term smoking, alcohol abuse and drug use will increase the risk of impotence.
