Endometriosis is a common gynecological disease in women, and its harm is also significant. After getting sick, we must undergo timely examination and also pay attention to early treatment.
Symptoms of endometriosis
1. Lower abdominal pain and dysmenorrhea: Pain is the main symptom of endometriosis, with typical symptoms of secondary or progressive dysmenorrhea worsening. Pain often occurs in the lower abdomen, lumbosacral region, and middle part of the pelvic cavity. Sometimes, pain also occurs in the perineum, anus, and thighs, often during menstruation and continues throughout the entire period. A few patients may present with persistent lower abdominal pain and exacerbation of menstruation.
2. Infertility: The infertility rate in patients with endometriosis is 40%. The reason for infertility is that changes in the pelvic microenvironment affect the binding and transportation of sperm and eggs, abnormal immune function increases anti endometrial antibodies, disrupts normal metabolism and physiological function of the endometrium, and abnormal ovarian function causes ovulation disorders and corpus luteum dysfunction. Moderate to severe patients can affect the transportation of fertilized eggs due to adhesion around the ovaries and fallopian tubes.
3. Discomfort during sexual intercourse: There are ectopic lesions in the rectum and uterus, and local adhesions fix the uterus. Pain is caused by collisions or contractions during backward leaning sexual intercourse, usually manifested as deep sexual pain, with the most obvious pain during sexual intercourse before menstruation.
4. Menstrual abnormalities: 15% -30% of patients with endometriosis have excessive menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual periods, insufficient menstruation, or premenstrual bleeding, which may be related to ovarian parenchymal lesions, anovulation, luteal insufficiency, or combined adenomyosis and uterine fibroids.
Special symptoms of endometriosis
When endometriosis occurs outside the pelvis, periodic pain, bleeding, and lumps appear locally, resulting in corresponding symptoms:
1. When endometriosis occurs in the intestine, patients may experience abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, or periodic small amounts of bloody stool. In severe cases, symptoms of intestinal obstruction may occur due to the compression of the intestinal cavity by a lump
When endometriosis occurs in the bladder, patients often experience urinary pain and frequency, but often experience abdominal pain and pain before and after menstruation, after sexual intercourse, or other increases in abdominal pressure. The symptoms are similar to rupture of a fallopian tube pregnancy, but there is no abdominal bleeding.
Ultrasound examination for endometriosis
Endometriosis examination, ultrasound examination can examine, and the ultrasound image of endometrioid cysts shows granular small echoes. If the cystic fluid is thick and the inner lining floats up, it is easy to have echogenic characteristics similar to the hair contained in the fat of the deformed tumor, that is, fine light bands can be seen in the liquid, distributed in a parallel dashed line shape.
