The appearance of external genital eczema is particularly troublesome for many women. We should also pay attention to this disease, especially actively treat it, and patients should also avoid entering treatment misunderstandings.
Treatment of Vulvar Eczema
1. General treatment: general treatment: investigate the cause of the disease, cut off the allergen and various adverse stimuli as far as possible, such as dyspepsia, intestinal parasites, diabetes, mental disorders, etc. Keep the perineum clean and dry, do not use soap to clean skin damage, and do not apply irritating antipruritic drugs. Avoid allergenic foods: Avoid drinking various proteins, spicy foods, etc. to avoid excessive fatigue and mental stress.
2. Local treatment: Local treatment is the main method in the acute phase, using physiological saline to cool and wet. Apply zinc oxide paste when the erythema, blisters, and exudation are not obvious. When there is no exudate or pustules, 1% phenol containing calamine lotion can be used for external washing. When there is obvious exudate, 3% boric acid solution with a ratio of 1:8000 to 1:5000 can be used for cold and wet compress. If erosion occurs, compound copper sulfate solution should be used for external washing to prevent inflammation and convergence; When secondary bacterial and fungal infections occur, corresponding antibacterial and antifungal ointments such as 0.5% neomycin ointment, 2% oxytetracycline, and zinc oxide ointment can be selected for application. 0.1% ethacridine (rivanol) solution can be used for wet application during the scab formation period. In addition, triamcinolone acetonide acetate (triamcinolone acetonide) cream, fluoxetine cream, and other products can be applied to relieve itching and maintain dryness.
Misunderstanding of Eczema of the Vulva
1. The more frequently you wash, the better: There is urine and fecal residue on the skin of the genital area, so it is necessary to clean and remove dirt frequently, but washing more frequently is not the best. Excessive cleaning can damage the protective film on the surface of the skin, making it dry, uncomfortable, and itchy. The vagina is not sterile, but contains many different types of bacteria. Under normal circumstances, various types of bacteria in the vagina restrict each other and coexist, becoming a normal bacterial community without causing diseases. But when the body's resistance decreases due to illness, or when long-term use of antibiotics leads to dysbiosis of the bacterial community, it can trigger a series of gynecological inflammations.
2. Rinsing the vagina is cleaner: This is a conceptual mistake, as we have accepted a wrong traditional belief from our mothers that the vagina is dirty and should be rinsed and deodorized. In fact, the higher the degree of indiscriminate use of lotion for vaginal flushing, the higher the risk of bacterial vaginitis, which is 40% higher than the risk of infection in general women. Under normal circumstances, healthy women have a normal bacterial community in their vagina, mainly responsible for lactobacilli and beneficial bacteria. The pH value of the vagina is maintained between 3.8 and 4.5, which is a weak acidic environment that can prevent the growth of harmful bacteria. This is the self-cleaning ability of the vagina. If beneficial bacteria are killed, it will disrupt the self-cleaning effect. If drugs are used frequently to clean the vagina, beneficial and harmful bacteria will be killed, which can also damage the weak acid environment and lead to gynecological inflammation.
