Can cervicitis induce cervical cancer? Patients with cervicitis should not eat too sweet food
The occurrence of cervicitis not only affects the normal life of patients, but also seriously affects the health of female friends. Many patients are concerned that their illness will affect fertility, which is also something we must be clear about.
The impact of cervicitis on pregnancy
Cervicitis is a common disease among women of childbearing age, with two types: acute and chronic. Acute cervicitis often coexists with acute endometritis or acute vaginitis, but is common in chronic cervicitis. Chronic cervicitis is more common than infection caused by pathogens invading the cervix after childbirth, miscarriage, or surgery. Chronic cervicitis has many manifestations. For example, cervical erosion, cervical hypertrophy, cervical polyps, and cervical gland cysts, among which cervical erosion is the most common.
Generally speaking, cervical secretions in patients with cervicitis and cervical erosion are significantly increased compared to before, with a thick texture. Due to the high content of white blood cells, the inflammatory environment will reduce the vitality of sperm when it passes through the cervix, and viscous secretions are also difficult to pass through the sperm. Inflammatory cells will devour a large number of sperm, and the remaining sperm will be destroyed by bacteria and toxins. If there is an infection with Escherichia coli, sperm will have a strong coagulation effect and lose vitality.
The hazards of cervicitis
1. Induced cervical cancer: According to statistics, the incidence rate of cervical cancer in women with cervicitis is 10 times higher than that in women without cervicitis. Chronic or untreated cervicitis is considered one of the causes of cervical cancer.
2. Abortion: Cervicitis is also a cause of miscarriage. Cervicitis changes tissue, decreases elasticity, and the production process is not smooth, resulting in a tragic miscarriage.
3. Infertility: About 20% to 25% of patients with excessive vaginal discharge are caused by cervicitis, and the sticky and purulent vaginal discharge caused by inflammation is not conducive to sperm infertility through the cervical canal.
4. Impact on sexual quality of life: Severe cervicitis affects sexual quality of life, causing women to feel pain and discomfort during sexual activity and refuse to engage in sexual activity.
Treatment of cervicitis
1. Surgical treatment: The risk of surgical treatment is high, but for patients with severe conditions, surgical treatment is the best choice. For patients with severe conditions, it is difficult to achieve a cure using physical and medication, and the condition may recur, not only causing serious harm to the body
2. Drug treatment: For patients with moderate or mild cervicitis, experts will recommend drug treatment, which is effective quickly and does not leave scars on the body. Moreover, drug treatment will leave a relatively low recurrence rate of antibodies in the human body. Therefore, for patients who have just developed cervicitis, drug treatment can be adopted.
