Why did underwear become a hotbed for bacteria? Did you avoid the wrong method of washing underwear
Personal clothing comes into contact with our private areas every day, and everyone has their own cleaning methods. Are these methods correct? Taiwan's "Health" magazine recently published 5 questions about cleaning underwear.
Question 1: Is hand washing underwear the cleanest? Chen Anqi, a family management training instructor, said that hand washing underwear is indeed relatively clean, but the disadvantage of hand washing is that cleaning agents often cannot flush clean and cannot completely wring dry after washing. Tong Baoling, the attending physician of Obstetrics and Gynecology at National Taiwan University Hospital, pointed out that the cleaning of underwear only needs to follow a simple principle: "wash clean, rinse clean". As for how you wash and which cleaning agent you use, it doesn't really matter.
Question 2: How to choose cleaning agents? Lin Yijun, the attending physician of the Infection Department of Taipei Medical University Hospital, pointed out that the detergent that can blister can destroy the protein. How to clean underwear that has blood stains during the physiological period? Chen Anqi said that when you first get it, rinse it with cold water and it may wash off. However, if the blood stain has dried hard, you can use hydrogen peroxide to disinfect the wound and drop it on top, which can effectively decompose the blood stain.
Question 3: What should I do if I live in an apartment and my underwear cannot be exposed to the sun? Ultraviolet radiation is the best natural disinfection system. If possible, it is best to let the clothes close to you be exposed to the sun. If there is really no chance, Chen Anqi suggests using high temperature for treatment, such as ironing, drying with a dryer, or blowing with a hair dryer to prevent it from getting damp. Chen Anqi reminds that underwear is not suitable for drying in the bathroom.
Are you still washing your underwear the wrong way
Question 4: Can essential oils, bleach water, and hot water boil effectively kill bacteria? Tong Baoling believes that essential oils do have certain unique effects, but when dropped on underwear, at most they only have aromatic functions. Cleaning with bleach water does have a bactericidal effect and can remove yellow stains, but the chloride in bleach water is highly irritating, so it is important to pay attention to residues. If you really want it to be clean, you can boil it in water for 15 minutes.
Question 5: Pads and disposable underwear are the cleanest choices because they can be changed every day? A pad is used when there is a small amount of menstrual blood, and it is not recommended to use it as it will make private areas airtight. Wash free underwear is only used when it is inconvenient to change, as it is uncertain what material is used and may not be safe after bleaching.
