Which type of ovarian cyst is the most serious? Ovarian cysts are often accompanied by 7 symptoms
Ovarian cyst is a familiar gynecological disease. Its appearance seriously affects the health of female patients. We must make clear its symptoms and go to the hospital for examination and treatment in time after physical abnormality.
Type of ovarian cyst
1. Functional cyst: This kind of cyst is quite common in women of reproductive age, also known as physiological cyst. The ovarian follicles are not mature and become cysts, but these cysts disappear when the menstrual cycle comes. Therefore, it is very important to do B-ultrasound examination for cysts during menstruation or just out of date. There is no functional cyst in women during or after menopause.
2. Endometritis cyst: This kind of cyst contains coagulated blood clots, and the color is like chocolate, so it is also called chocolate cyst. This kind of cyst is very common in women with endometriosis and is a serious case.
3. Dermoid cyst (hair cyst): This kind of cyst is usually benign (i.e. non-cancer cells). There are often fatty liquids such as hair, teeth and bones in the cyst. It is usually small and asymptomatic. However, cyst enlargement may cause complications.
4. Functional cyst: This is the most common cyst. In women of reproductive age who have ovulation, abnormal amount of fluid collects in the filter or corpus luteum, forming a filter cyst or corpus luteum cyst. This functional cyst can sometimes be relatively large, but it usually disappears within three months no matter whether it is treated with drugs or not.
5. Hemorrhagic cyst: filter cyst and corpus luteum cyst grow too fast, ovarian tissue is involved, split and bleed. This blood is accumulated in the ovary because it is not exported, which is called hemorrhagic cyst. This kind of cyst usually disappears by itself but takes a long time. If the symptoms of physical discomfort are obvious, you can take medicine to relieve the symptoms. In a few cases, patients with severe symptoms need resection.
6. Serous epithelial cyst and mucinous epithelial cyst: after 3 months of observation, the cyst still exists is not a functional cyst, but an epithelial ovarian cyst. This is because the serous cells and mucus cells with secretory function are buried in the ovary after ovulation and continue to secrete fluid to form cysts. This cyst will not disappear and needs to be removed surgically.
7. Chocolate cyst: Chocolate cyst refers to endometriosis growing in the ovary and forming a large amount of sticky brown chocolate like liquid in the ovary. Endometrial tumors grow larger over time, erode normal tissues, and cause irreversible damage to ovarian tissues. After evaluating its severity, surgical treatment may be required.
