What should couples pay attention to when cohabiting after childbirth? Couples should keep these 5 important precautions in mind when cohabiting after childbirth
After a long period of pregnancy, a lovely and healthy baby has finally been born, which means the end of the abstinence period. Many young couples are eager to have intimate contact, but there are many preventive measures after childbirth that both men and women should know.
What should we pay attention to during postpartum sexual intercourse?
1. The roommate's date cannot be too early
It takes approximately 6-8 weeks for the uterine wound and uterus to return to normal. Premature sexual activity after childbirth can lead to incision scar tearing or genital infection. Generally speaking, as long as the reproductive system fully returns to normal, you need to go to the hospital for examination 42 days after delivery. If you find that lochia has not been discharged 42 days after delivery, there is a noticeable tingling sensation in the perineal wound. If the uterus is too large or does not recover well, you cannot engage in sexual activity.
2. Do a good job in contraception work
The texture of women's uterus during lactation is soft, and direct miscarriage after pregnancy increases the risk of uterine rupture and perforation, especially for women undergoing cesarean section, which poses a greater risk and even life-threatening risk. Pregnancy soon after giving birth can also affect milk secretion, which is not conducive to feeding the baby. Regardless of whether breastfeeding occurs after childbirth, contraception measures should be taken as long as sexual activity returns to normal.
3. Arrange sexual activity during natural childbirth
Many people believe that after natural childbirth, the vagina will become loose, affecting the quality of sexual life in the future, so they will adopt a cesarean section. Natural childbirth is a natural physiological process of reproduction, which has less damage to the mother and is conducive to postpartum recovery. It is also an ideal mode of delivery. Every woman's vagina is elastic and has a strong expansion ability. After giving birth, she should do more vaginal sphincter exercises. It can return to normal in about 6 to 8 weeks, and will not affect sexual life. Don't worry too much.
4. Sexual activity during episiotomy
Some women need to undergo a lateral episiotomy when giving birth, and a 3-5 centimeter incision on the outer side of the vagina can grow and disassemble within about a week. After giving birth, sexual activity will not have a significant impact. Women who require a perineal incision may experience vaginal tearing if they refuse a lateral incision. After perineal tear, the edge of the wound becomes irregular, prolonging the healing time of the wound, leaving obvious scars locally, and causing significant discomfort during postpartum sexual activity. The female vagina has good elasticity and dilation ability. After delivery, the elastic fibers in the vagina contract and gradually return to their prenatal state. Therefore, the perineal incision will not affect sexual quality.
