What is the reason for inverted nipples in women? Seven major hazards cannot be ignored for female nipple retraction
Nipple retraction is also common in daily life, and its appearance causes special distress for many women. It also has many impacts on women, and we must take it seriously from our hearts.
Symptoms of inverted nipple
Medical history: Primary nipple retraction often occurs in young girls, secondary nipple retraction often occurs in lactating women, breast duct dilation or accompanied by periductal mastitis, breast tumors accompanied by breast masses and corresponding skin lesions. The clinical manifestation is the main basis for diagnosis, which is the retraction of one or both nipples to the skin or inner side of the breast. The degree of nipple depression varies from person to person and is generally divided into mild and severe cases.
1. Mild patients: varying degrees of nipple retraction, squeezing out the nipple with hand or using negative pressure to attract the nipple to protrude from the body surface.
2. Severe patient: completely submerged on the surface of the areola, unable to squeeze out, often growing in the opposite direction.
In addition to the changes in nipple growth mentioned above, there are symptoms such as accumulation of dirt or oil inside the nipple, nipple itching, nipple eczema, nipple inflammation, erythema and pain around the areola, and pain during smoking.
Harm of nipple retraction
1. Inflammation of the skin around the nipple: The nipple is deeply sunken and the areola skin is partially sunken, which is not cleaned for a long period of time. Secretions and pollutants are not cleared, and it smells. The nipple and areola are inflamed, bleeding, and erosive, forming chronic inflammation
2. Cannot breastfeed: nipple cannot be exposed, mother cannot breastfeed, baby cannot suckle, affecting baby development
3. Breast disease: nipple retraction, inability to discharge breast milk in parturients
5. Psychological burden: Long term anxiety, worry, and lack of confidence in one's own body, seriously affecting women's mental health.
6. Impact on sexual life: The nipple is a very important sexual sensitive point for women, and many women's sexual desire is achieved through nipple stimulation. If the nipple is sunken, it is difficult to exert effective sexual stimulation and can also affect male sexual desire.
7. Impact on infant health and postpartum recovery of women: nipple retraction prevents sufficient breast milk, affects physical development, and affects health. For new mothers, postpartum recovery can also be affected.
