What is the reason for female genital itching? A clever plan to relieve itching in the external genitalia
Pruritus of the external genitalia mainly occurs in the female vagina or labia, and other female reproductive organs, which can feel unbearable itching. Vulvar itching mostly occurs at night and women cannot sleep. But few people truly understand the causes of vulvar itching. So, what is the reason for female genital itching? What to do with itching of the external genitalia?
Six major causes of vulvar itching in women
1. Local skin uncleanness
Some women use toilet paper improperly, causing chronic inflammation of the external genitalia skin due to immersion in menstrual blood, vaginal secretions, and even urine, feces, and sweat, resulting in itching of the external genitalia.
2. Skin disease of the external genitalia
The skin damage of tinea cruris often extends to the external genitalia, causing severe itching in the local area. The local itching caused by eczema of the external genitalia and neurodermatitis is more severe. The former is manifested as papules, blisters, and erosive exudates with unclear local skin boundaries, while the latter often presents with skin thickening and mossification due to scratching. White spots on the external genitalia, in addition to causing itching, are often accompanied by vulvar malnutrition and skin atrophy
3. Trichomonas vaginalis infection
When the acidity of female vaginal mucosa is reduced, the production of lactic acid is reduced, and Trichomonas vaginalis infection is prone to occur, which shows foam like leucorrhea and pruritus of vulva.
4. Fungal infection
For women suffering from diabetes or normal flora imbalance caused by long-term application of antibiotic, candida albicans in mold is easy to invade the vulva and vagina, and fungal vulvovaginitis and vaginitis often occur, and bean dregs like leucorrhea and vulva pruritus often occur.
5. Drug eruption
The "fixed type drug rash" caused by the use of sulfonamides or other drugs by women with allergic constitution often occurs at the skin mucosal junction of the external genitalia. In addition to local itching, it can also be accompanied by erosion and exudation. Using medication for vaginal cleaning and vaginal insertion can lead to allergic reactions and contact dermatitis, as well as external genital itching.
6. Viral infection
Genital warts mostly occur in the vaginal wall, cervical opening, and external genitalia of women, and there is also a foul smelling vaginal discharge. Infectious soft warts that occur in the external genitalia are mostly manifested as circular papules with a central umbilical fossa like depression, which can also cause itching in the external genitalia. Genital herpes is often characterized by bright blisters of the size of rice grains appearing at the urethral opening and vaginal wall, except for local itching.
