What are the hazards of improper condom size? How to choose a suitable condom for oneself
Many men, especially those who use condoms for the first time, often struggle about what size of condom they should buy when they go to the supermarket to buy condoms. Don't think that just buying a size is enough, it's important to buy the right size.
The Hazards of Improper Condom Size
Using a condom that is too tight can cause damage to the penis tissue, leading to impotence and impotence. Experts pointed out that if too tight condoms are often used, the penis will suffer from ischemia, which will lead to hypoxia of tissues and nerves in the penis. If the injured part is the Cavernous tissue, it will lead to impotence, and even more serious cases will lead to impotence.
Excessive use of tight condoms can lead to a risk of sexual impotence, but using too wide condoms also carries potential risks.
Some people buy condoms that are too large and feel that they don't fit, so they simply give them up, or because the condom doesn't fit, it increases direct contact between the penis and vagina, making semen easy to flow out, reducing contraceptive efficacy, but increasing the possibility of infectious diseases (such as gonorrhea).
What are the sizes of condoms?
The length of the condom is relatively fixed, with an ordinary condom measuring about 19 centimeters in length and a seminal vesicle measuring about 2 centimeters at the top of the condom. There is a slightly elastic rubber band at the proximal opening (cuff), mainly used for genital fixation.
There are four different sizes of condoms, and the size classification of different brands is unified. Generally speaking, condoms can be classified into four types based on the diameter of the opening: large, medium, small, and extra small. The opening diameter of 35mm is large (approximately 110mm in circumference and 55mm in width), 33mm is medium (approximately 104mm in circumference and 52mm in width), 31mm is small (49mm in width), and 29mm is extra small.
Thickness of condoms
According to the thickness of condoms, they can be divided into ordinary, thin, and ultra-thin types. The single layer wall thickness of a condom is generally 0.04-0.07 millimeters, with the thinnest layer being 0.03 millimeters.
Ordinary type (thickness 0.04-0.06 mm), ultra-thin type (thickness 0.03 mm), and thin type (thickness between the first two), ultra-thin type refers to the advanced transparent condoms commonly used in China.
How to choose a suitable size condom?
The vast majority of condom models in China are medium, and the nominal width on the packaging is "52 plus or minus 2 millimeters" (half of the circumference of the condom opening). If you don't know how to choose a condom model, you can first measure your genitalia based on the value of your erection status. Most men in China are suitable for medium size condoms. So when people choose condoms, they can directly purchase medium size. After a single use, if you feel too tight or loose, you can wrap a thin thread around the middle of the fully erect penis, and then measure the length of the thread to obtain the circumference of the penis. Divide by 2, and based on this calculation, consult and purchase a suitable size condom.
Regardless, it is important to remember to choose the appropriate size as it provides protection for both men and women.
