When the penis is erect, generally speaking, the head of the penis is directly forward and upward. However, when a man's penis is erect, the penis is deflected or bent. What's the matter?
Because the erection of the penis is completed by the congestion of the cavernous body of the penis. If there are some factors that cause the congestion of the cavernous body of the penis to be unbalanced, or the restriction of the fibrous scar restricts the erection of the penis, it can cause the penis to bend or deflect.
Common reasons are as follows:
(1) Congenital frenulum of prepuce is too short. It can make penis erection limited and bend.
(2) The cavernous body of the penis develops asymmetrically. If the cavernous body of the penis is thicker and thinner, and the congestion is unbalanced, the penis will bend to the thin side when erecting.
(3) Scar constraint. When the penis is injured, scar will be formed, which will restrict the erection of the penis and cause bending.
(4) Surgical sequelae. Too much prepuce removal during circumcision will also affect the erection of the penis and cause bending.
(5) Fibrous cavernous inflammation. The white membrane of the cavernous body of the penis changes fibrosis, so that the penis bends when erecting.
(6) Urethral malformation. The position of the urethral orifice is congenital malformation, accompanied by the contraction of the fascia around the urethra and lack of elasticity. Therefore, the penis bends when erecting.
If the angle of upward bending of the penis after erection is less than 40 degrees, and the angle of downward bending or lateral deviation is less than 30 degrees, treatment is generally unnecessary. If it is caused by the abnormal position of the urethral orifice, it should be corrected by surgery.
