Vestibular gland cyst has three major hazards, and external genital cleaning is the key to prevention
Vestibular gland cyst is a gynecological disease that also poses serious harm to women. We must clarify the reasons for it, especially in terms of reasonable prevention in daily life.
Causes of Vestibular Gland Cysts
1. Infection: After the disappearance of the vestibular gland abscess, the pus is absorbed, the mucus in the glandular cavity is thick, and the glandular ducts are blocked.
2. Injury to the large vestibular duct: During childbirth, there is a possibility of laceration of the vagina and outer side of the perineum in women, and there is also a possibility of injury to the duct during episiotomy. In addition, after the healing of the perineal incision, severe scar tissue contraction may occur, which can also block the opening of the vestibular gland and form cysts.
3. Stenosis or atresia of the lumen: Some patients have congenital narrowing or atresia of the glandular ducts, and the fluid in the glandular cavity cannot be discharged or is poorly discharged, which can also form vestibular gland cysts.
Harm of Vestibular Gland Cyst
1. The vestibular gland is located at the posterior part of the greater genitalia on both sides, and the glandular opening is located on the inner side of the lesser genitalia near the membranous area of unmarried women. Due to the characteristics of the anatomical site, pathogens can easily infiltrate and cause inflammation when contaminating the external genitalia during sexual activity, childbirth, or other situations.
2. After a woman is infected with a vestibular gland cyst, if not treated in a timely manner, the cyst may spread backwards and become an abscess around the rectum, sometimes leading to rectal ulcers. During diagnosis, small and hard nodules can be touched, with slight compression pain. During compression, pus can flow out of the mouth, and the mouth can close or narrow itself. The accumulated pus may form an abscess again, or it may recur and remain untreated for a long time.
3. The onset is mostly unilateral or bilateral. Long term absence of symptoms, often found in gynecological examinations. Cysts grow slowly and generally do not exceed the size of an egg. Large cysts can cause external genital dilation and sexual discomfort. Upon examination, it was found that a lump occupied the middle and lower one-third of the greater genitalia, and the lesser genitalia was completely flat, with the vaginal opening pushed towards the healthy side. During secondary infection of the vestibular gland cyst, an abscess can form, and repeated infection can expand the cyst. Reminder to patients: Vestibular gland cysts pose a serious threat and seriously affect women's normal life. They should not have a sense of luck and should not be delayed. Otherwise, there may be unimaginable results.
Prevention of Vestibular Gland Cysts
1. This disease often occurs in women during the reproductive period. Preventive measures mainly focus on local hygiene of the external genitalia, such as changing underwear and washing the genitals with detergent.
