Sexual Health
The reason why men haven't had sex for many years is that syphilis explains the four transmission routes of syphilis
Recently, 80 uncles found severe syphilis in a hospital in Xiamen, which is highly infectious and has not had sex for many years. Why did they get infected with this disease? This is beyond my uncle's comprehension.
80-year-old uncle has been tested for syphilis after years of asexuality
There are thick scabs on the palms and soles of feet, some of which have fallen off and obviously eroded. Uncle Liu came to the dermatology department of a hospital in Xiamen to see a doctor. The dermatologist's answer shocked uncle.
Uncle Liu said that his symptoms had lasted for several months. At the beginning, there were only some erythema on his skin, and there would be no itching and pain. The local hospital diagnosed him as allergic, but he took many drugs and did not relieve them. Instead, his condition became more and more serious. Through blood sampling inspection, it was found that this is not a common skin disease, but syphilis, and it is a secondary syphilis, which is relatively serious and has a strong infectious disease.
But it is incredible that Mr. Liu, who is in his 80s, has not had sex for many years. Why is he infected with syphilis? Under the living conditions complained by Uncle Liu, the doctor found that Uncle Liu had received dental filling in a small clinic with poor medical and sanitary environment, and the teeth bled during the filling process
Finally, the doctor concluded that the possibility of syphilis infection is the highest when filling teeth.
What is the transmission route of syphilis?
Syphilis is a chronic infectious disease caused by Treponema pallidum. After entering the human body, Treponema pallidum rapidly spreads to all organs of the body, producing various symptoms and signs. As a sexually transmitted disease, sexual contact is the main mode of transmission. But in addition, syphilis has other ways of transmission.
1. Direct contact infection
According to statistics, more than 95% of patients with syphilis are caused by traditional direct contact. In order to avoid syphilis, we must pay attention to the safety of sexual life and use condoms to reduce direct contact.
2. Indirect contact infection
Living with syphilis patients and often contacting the underwear, underwear, quilt, towel, razor, toilet, etc. used by the patients may infect syphilis patients. These daily necessities may be infected with Treponema pallidum, causing contact infection.
3. Mother-child transmission
Women with syphilis are pregnant without treatment. Treponema pallidum is transmitted to the fetus through blood circulation, and the fetus is infected with syphilis in the mother. Therefore, pregnant women with syphilis are not recommended.
