Sexual Health
Sex education is not just about correcting three misconceptions in physiological health classes
For those who are familiar with the correct concepts, the most frequently mentioned words in sex education are AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases, captive breeding, abortion, tragedy, etc. Media reports are also factors such as college students' loss of virginity, hotels, porn, and abortion. The sex topic of minors and adult college students has become synonymous with abortion and regression. In people's minds, such factors have been expanded many times to warn future generations
Sex education is not just about physical hygiene classes
Sex education has also become preaching outside of reality
In 2008, the premarital chastity education course was introduced on Chinese university campuses, causing widespread controversy. In 2010, the life without regret centered around chastity education was adopted locally in Yunnan. These preaching of chastity are just repeated and terrifying arguments, avoiding the physical and psychological pleasure of sexual intercourse. It is worth noting that many virgins speak only to women and have no constraints on men, essentially a modern copy of the hymen worshipping women for male virginity.
In ancient times, it was easy to maintain premarital chastity because many people got married at the age of 4 or 5. Now, many people get married at the age of 20 to 30. It is difficult to maintain premarital chastity when the marriage age is delayed. Premarital sex has become a trend. In the United States, research commissioned by Congress shows that American students who have participated in professional chastity classes do not show more restraint in sexual behavior and attitudes compared to students who have not participated in educational programs.
Sex education is seen as a physiological and health course, which is neglected in practical practice
At the level of physiology, many schools in China only consider sex education as a chapter in other courses (such as physiology, college students' mental health, etc.), with fragmented and incomplete content. For most regions, high school physiological and health courses are only aimed at completing full-time primary and secondary school curriculum plans, and primary and secondary schools must arrange 0.5 hours of course tasks per week. Many schools only arrange their curriculum in response to the inspection of their superiors, and the official statistics show a high opening rate. Many schools' health education courses are already in name only, and the actual rate of classes is extremely low. Regarding schools that barely complete physiological and health courses, the content only includes this promotional course.
Lack of textbooks and extensive channels of contact for minors
Since 2002, Heilongjiang Province has been providing adolescent education training for high school teachers, and for the first time, it has compiled high school sexual education textbooks for high school students. Two years later, it entered the classroom and became the first formal textbook. In September 2004, sexual health guidelines on topics such as sex, pregnancy, and sexual ethics were first published in the Beijing region. It was not until September 2004 that the first step was to cover the series of adolescent sex education textbooks from upper primary school, middle school to high school, which were released in Nanning. It is embarrassing that after the first textbook in Heilongjiang was launched, the strong feedback from teachers and parents has sparked controversy.
