Returning to the virility of childhood -- talking about prostatic hyperplasia (pure dry goods)
With the continuous growth of age, many men have to start to face a worry:
It's becoming more and more difficult to urinate!
They will go to the bathroom in a short time. They don't pee much each time. The urine line is pitifully thin, and they can't pee far away. They even pee on their shoes and pants
When I was a child, the strong wind of "peeing three zhang at will against the wind" is gone forever.
This is caused by Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH).
The prostate is a very strange organ. As people get older, many organs will gradually shrink, but on the contrary, the prostate will become larger and larger, which is called "hyperplasia".
Since the age of 40, some men have been troubled by it. At the age of 60, half of the men will be recruited. At the age of 80, only about one in ten will survive.
So, why is this problem? What harm is there? How to deal with it and return to the childhood smoothness?
When it comes to the cause of disease, we should talk about such an interesting thing:
Our country carried out an investigation on the eunuchs in the late Qing Dynasty, and found that their prostate gland did not proliferate, and many of them were atrophic. It turns out that androgens and some other substances secreted by the testis are the internal reason for the continuous growth of the prostate, and the older the age, the more obvious the growth, and the more severe the symptoms.
Therefore, in brief, there are two important conditions for the occurrence of BPH: age and functional testicles.
If you want to ask if there is any way to prevent this disease, I'm afraid the answer will disappoint you.
The human body is a close organic whole. Don't look down on this small prostate. Its hyperplasia doesn't matter. A lot of problems will follow. The so-called "pull the hair and move the whole body".
① Affect the quality of life. Prostatic hyperplasia can cause frequent urination, urgency, pain, and laborious urination. Frequent urination at night is particularly annoying, which will affect the quality of sleep, and then affect health.

② Urinary retention. Urinary retention refers to the retention of urine in the bladder, which can not be discharged. It can be divided into chronic and acute.
③ Hematuria: The hyperplasia of the prostate pulls small blood vessels. When the bladder contracts and urinates, blood vessels may rupture and hematuria may occur. In serious cases, blood clots may block the bladder outlet.
④ Infection: The running water is not rotten, the hinge of the house is not wormhole, and the stagnant water in the bladder is a good culture medium for bacteria, which is easy to infect and difficult to control.
⑤ Renal function damage: the bladder is not emptying smoothly for a long time, and is under high pressure. It is increasingly difficult for the urine produced by the kidney to flow into the bladder. If it cannot be drained out, hydronephrosis will occur. If the hydronephrosis lasts for a long time, the function of the kidney will be damaged. In serious cases, renal failure and uremia will occur.
⑥ Bladder calculi: The standing water in the bladder for a long time will cause crystal precipitation to form stones, which is more likely to grow when combined with infection.
⑦ Symptoms caused by increased abdominal pressure: Many patients with BPH will increase abdominal pressure to urinate, which may lead to inguinal hernia, hemorrhoids, etc. for a long time.
I often hear patients ask: Doctor, I have prostatic hyperplasia, do I need to have surgery? I'm afraid it's not clear in one sentence.
I can only say, the situation of seeing a doctor. According to the severity of the disease, three different treatment schemes can be adopted.
The first kind: don't even take medicine.
The professional term is "observation and waiting". It is applicable to patients who have no complications, mild symptoms and little impact on quality of life. Observing and waiting is not just sitting and waiting without doing anything, but also taking many measures. For example, we should learn relevant knowledge, properly limit water in some cases to reduce the frequency of urination, do some relaxation training, and regularly review various indicators. If the condition changes, go to the next step of treatment.
The second kind: need to take medicine. We introduce the two most common drugs: α Receptor blockers and 5 α Reductase inhibitors.
α Receptor blocker
five α Reductase inhibitor
Representative drugs
Hale (Tansorosin)
Doxazosin
Baoliezhi (finasteride)
Principle of action
Relax the smooth muscle of prostate and bladder neck, reduce the resistance of urination
Block the effect of androgen on the prostate and shrink the prostate
Effective time
fast
slow
The two drugs are highly complementary, and the combined effect is better than that of any one alone. They are a golden partner for the treatment of prostatic hyperplasia.
It should be emphasized that these drugs generally take a long time, and random withdrawal will bring rebound! So remember to listen to the doctor and don't stop taking medicine at will! Don't stop taking medicine at will! Don't stop taking medicine at will! Important things are to be repeated for 3 times.
The third kind: needs surgery. In general, the proportion of benign prostatic hyperplasia requiring surgical treatment is not too large, and they are all patients with serious conditions, such as those who obviously affect the quality of life, have poor drug treatment effect, have recurrent urinary retention, recurrent infections, have bladder stones, and have secondary hydronephrosis. Of course, the specific factors should be considered by the specialist.
The most common method is transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP). As the name implies, it is to insert a set of electron microscope and electrosurgical knife through the urethra to remove the oversized prostate, so as to relieve the pressure of the prostate on the urethra, open the channel, and make urination smooth again.
Finally, I wish every man as hearty as he was when he was a child!
