Isn't orgasm and ejaculation the same thing? Not all ejaculation is accompanied by orgasm
When sexual excitement reaches the threshold for male ejaculation, secretions such as testicular fluid, epididymal fluid, and sperm all converge into the posterior urethra. At this time, men will feel the sensation of the posterior urethra being swollen and ready to ejaculate. Subsequently, the bladder neck muscles contracted, and the pudendal muscles experienced paroxysmal contractions, ejecting semen from the urethral opening. Men suddenly experience an indescribable sense of comfort and pleasure, accompanied by increased breathing, heartbeat, blood pressure, and random or involuntary muscle contractions throughout the body. This is what we understand as male orgasm. But from a medical perspective, male orgasm is not equivalent to ejaculation.
Orgasm and ejaculation are not the same thing
Sexual experts point out that for most men, the onset of orgasmic pleasure occurs simultaneously with the ejaculation process. So, some people may misunderstand that ejaculation is when a man reaches orgasm. Actually, these are two different sexual reactions, but they happen to occur simultaneously.
The human sexual response is divided into an excitation period, a plateau period, an orgasm period, and a regression period. The climax period is the peak of the sexual response cycle. The high level of sexual energy and muscle tension accumulated during the plateau period are released through rhythmic muscle contraction. As that rhythmic contraction approaches, men will feel a strong pressure to ejaculate semen from the urethral opening, which is called ejaculation. Intense ejaculation can result in 8-10 or more muscle contractions, accompanied by extreme pleasure, which is orgasm. Not all ejaculation is accompanied by orgasmic pleasure.
1. Men may not experience orgasm due to weak ejaculation, enuresis, or situations such as shock, intense exercise, or electric shock.
2. When the related accessory gonads are not yet fully developed, some boys in adolescence may experience orgasms without ejaculation during masturbation.
Both of these situations belong to the separation of orgasm and ejaculation.
