Is hepatitis B also a sexually transmitted disease?
The definition of sexually transmitted diseases is an infectious disease transmitted through sexual and related behaviors, which is caused by viruses, spirochetes, parasites, or bacteria. When infected with these diseases, a large number of microorganisms are present in the patient's blood, body fluids, and skin, and transmitted to healthy individuals through sexual contact. More than 95% of sexually transmitted diseases are transmitted through sexual contact, but there are also very small parts that are transmitted through indirect contact, especially sharing razors and toilets with others. Vertical transmission from mother to child, blood products, and iatrogenic transmission are also infectious diseases. Although hepatitis B is not a sexually transmitted disease in a narrow sense, sexual contact is one of the Pathogen transmission. In addition to being related to sexual contact, the use of unsterilized medical devices can also infect others, such as ear piercing, tattooing and sharing razors and toothbrushes.
Explain 5 common sexually transmitted diseases in detail
1. Non gonococcal Urethritis
Non gonococcal Urethritis is Urethritis caused by chlamydia trachomatis and mycoplasma genitalium, with a high incidence rate. After 1-3 weeks of infection, the patient may experience significant discomfort in the urethra and an increase in secretion from the urethral opening.
2. Genital wart
Genital wart is a pudendal Neoplasm caused by human papillomavirus infection. It has an incubation period of 1 to 8 months. The patient has warts around the vulva and anus, soft and cauliflower like or papillary, without pain and itching. Although the treatment of Genital wart is simple, it is easy to relapse. The wart can be removed by laser, external application of Antiviral drug, freezing and cauterization.
3. Gonorrhea
Gonorrhea is caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae infection. Its main symptom is purulent infection of the urethra. It will come on three to five days after sexual contact. Its main symptoms are frequent urination, urgency and pain in urination. The secretion presents purulent, swollen cervix or urethra.
4. Syphilis
The incidence rate of syphilis is very high, second only to tuberculosis and hepatitis B, which is a chronic infectious disease infected by treponema pallidum. According to the development of syphilis, it can be divided into three stages. In the first stage, from the second to fourth week after contact with syphilis, the invading area forms an elliptical hard knot, and even if left untreated, the prickly heat under the hard tissue will disappear. However, the syphilis spiral will multiply in the Lymphatic system and blood, and systemic symptoms, such as fever and rash, can appear in about 6-8 weeks. There is no treatment yet to develop into stage three syphilis, which can cause toxicity to the cardiovascular, skeletal, and neurological systems, and even endanger life. In fact, the diagnosis and treatment of syphilis is very simple. As long as the Blood test is passed, the combined contact history can be diagnosed. As long as sufficient antibiotics are injected into the first and second stages of syphilis, they can be completely cured.
