The hymen is an important part of the female body, playing a protective role. However, there may be abnormal conditions in the hymen, and hymen atresia is a hymen related disease that we should pay attention to.
Does hymen atresia affect pregnancy
1. Hymenorrhea is often found after menarche. If not detected and treated in a timely manner, the accumulation of blood can cause the fallopian tubes to become enlarged and deformed, causing blood clots to block the tubes, which can affect fertility after marriage.
2. The normal hymen is divided into perforated, semi lunar, sieve shaped, septal, and microporous types. Hymen closure refers to the complete absence of gaps in the hymen. During sexual intercourse, due to the obstruction of the hymen, the male penis cannot enter the female vagina, sperm cannot combine with the egg to form a fertilized egg, and women cannot conceive.
Reasons for hymen sealing
The hymen is a circular membrane covering the outer opening of the vagina, with a small hole in the center. Atresia of the hymen, also known as imperforate hymen, occurs when the epithelium of the urogenital sinus at the end of the vagina fails to penetrate the vestibule during development. In the late and early stages of newborns, these manifestations are not obvious and require careful examination to distinguish.
The sealing of the hymen can cause vaginal bleeding, and excessive blood accumulation can flow into the fallopian tubes and enter the abdominal cavity through the umbrella. The peritoneum near the umbrella is stimulated by blood, causing swelling and adhesions. The umbrella of the fallopian tubes is sealed, causing blood to accumulate in the vagina, uterus, fallopian tubes, and even in the abdominal cavity
Treatment of hymen atresia
(1) Western medicine treatment:
1. Surgical treatment: Surgical removal of the hymen is best during adolescence, where the occurrence of estrogen can promote vulvar healing. When a girl is young, if there are no symptoms, she can temporarily leave it untreated, but if there is accumulation of vaginal secretions, the hymen should be cut open.
The surgical method for imperforate hymen is
(1) Abdominal compression: During surgical resection, the abdominal pressure is applied, and the protruding mass is more obvious, which is beneficial for operation.
(2) Sucking out accumulated blood can be done by using a thick needle to puncture and locate the location, and making a small incision with an electric knife to suck out the accumulated blood.
(3) Incision of the hymen: The hymen incision is usually made in an X-shaped shape, and experts also make circular or elliptical incisions.
When performing surgery, an X-shaped incision is made around the vagina until the vaginal wall is thin. Excess tissue of the diaphragm can be circumferentially removed, and the two layers of mucosa of the incision can be slightly separated from the base. The longitudinal suture is made to make the suture edge serrate and not in the same plane, to prevent circular stenosis in the future.
