Among the adult men in China, 29% have long foreskin and 9% have phimosis.
Some people believe that phimosis and long foreskin do not hinder sexual life and fertility, so they are not a genital disease. In fact, this view is not scientific. Because, whether phimosis or foreskin is too long, it is harmful to human body.
(1) Obstruct the development of penis and affect the harmony of sexual life: phimosis will affect the growth and development of penis. In adolescence, because the penis head is tightly wrapped by the foreskin and cannot be stimulated by the outside world, the development of the penis head is greatly constrained, resulting in a significantly smaller circumference of the crown of the penis head after the maturity of sexual organs, affecting sexual pleasure. Adults will affect their normal sexual life due to long foreskin or phimosis. Especially for men with too small foreskin diameter, the foreskin can not be recovered, and the foreskin is tightly stuck in the coronary groove, forming embedded phimosis, which is not very painful. In severe cases, the glans will have edema due to poor blood flow, and even glans necrosis may occur.
(2) Inflammation of penis: there are abundant sebaceous glands in the foreskin, which can secrete a large amount of sebum. When the phimosis or foreskin is too long, the secretion of sebaceous glands in the foreskin can not be discharged, and the sediment in sebum and urine can form a cheese-like and smelly "foreskin scale". The foreskin scale is suitable for bacterial growth, so it can cause inflammation of the penis and foreskin. Bacteria can also cause urinary tract infection through the urethra. Inflammation at the urethral orifice can cause the urethral orifice to be narrow after healing, resulting in difficulty in urination.
(3) Damage to renal function: inflammation of the penis can cause urethral orifice or anterior urethral stricture, resulting in difficulty in urination. If urination is difficult for a long time, the function of the kidney will be damaged.
(4) There is a risk of cancer: the foreskin is too long and phimosis may induce penis cancer. Modern scientific research shows that foreskin scaling is a carcinogen. According to the survey, 85% - 95% of patients with penile cancer have phimosis or long foreskin. The phimosis and foreskin are too long, which not only affect your health, but also bring the foreskin dirt into the vagina, stimulate the uterus and induce cervical cancer if you sleep with your wife.
Therefore, men with phimosis and long foreskin should go to the hospital for surgery as soon as possible. Perform circumcision. For the long, non-inflammatory prepuce, as long as the prepuce is often turned up and cleaned, surgery is not necessary.
