Can washing with hot water relieve itching in the external genitalia? The correct cleaning method for external genital itching
Pruritus of the external genitalia is a common condition that seriously affects the patient's life and body. It should be treated promptly, and attention should also be paid to vaginal care in daily life, with special attention to the correct cleaning method.
Can I use hot water to clean my external genital itching
The itching of the anus, labia, and scrotum is collectively referred to as external genital itching. There are many reasons for external genital itching, such as octopus, trichomonas, scabies, fungi, bacteria, etc. If the cause is clear, it is not difficult to cure this disease. However, currently, more external genital itching is not related to these microorganisms, but rather chronic dermatitis or eczema caused by long-term stimulation of physical, chemical, and other factors.
In fact, using hot water to clean the external genitalia is not ideal. Washing with hot water can alleviate itching symptoms, but it is only temporary. Hot water is not enough to kill itchy bacteria. In addition, the culprit causing external genital itching may not necessarily be bacteria, but may be dermatitis caused by the stimulation of allergens in the private area. Women who are allergic to chemical fiber substances wearing chemical fiber underwear can stimulate the genitals and also cause itching.
After itching, do not blindly wash the external genitalia with hot water. You should consult the hospital as soon as possible to determine the cause before deciding on a treatment plan. If the itching in the private area is unbearable, you can wet the external genitalia with a thick cold towel, wash the towel every 3 minutes, keep it warm, and continue to cool until it does not itch.
Incorrect practice of cleaning the external genitalia
1. Some people mistakenly believe that the external genitalia is a dirty place and use soap, hot water, salt water, cleaning solution, or disinfectant to wash it every night. They say it is very comfortable after washing. In fact, the external genitalia is not as clean, disinfected, and comfortable as the mouth and nose. On the contrary, it can cause imbalance of the external genitalia flora, local inflammation, increased itching, and even cause perianal inflammation, cystitis, retrograde pyelonephritis, etc.
2. For external genital itching, some doctors not only do not recommend patients to stop scalding, but also recommend applying medication containing pine hormones after scalding. The results are temporarily effective, but once the itching stops, the more stubborn the treatment becomes, and it will not heal for many years. In order to cure stubborn vulvar itching, various scalding measures must be stopped first, and then all medications containing pine must be stopped. At the beginning of stopping the medication, it may become more itchy. At this time, you can use a thick cold towel to wet the external genitalia and wash the towel every three minutes to avoid fever. Continue applying cold compress until no itching occurs, and then apply itching again. Without applying medication, I finally recovered.
