Can syphilis be cured? What are the methods and precautions for syphilis self examination
Syphilis is a common sexually transmitted disease. Knowing if one is infected with syphilis, how can one prevent it? Let's take a look.
1、 A Simple Self Test Method for Syphilis
Experts suggest that people who suspect they have sexually transmitted diseases can pay attention to how to self test for syphilis. Firstly, after syphilis infection, the average incubation period is 3 weeks, and the condition progresses into stages 1 and 2 (approximately 1 to 2 years). Without treatment or insufficient treatment, it can be transferred to stage 3 (i.e. the end stage), which can last for many years or even lead to death.
Secondly, the onset of syphilis is slow, with mild symptoms. Early clinical diseases naturally disappear, and patients neglect early treatment. Syphilis patients have been asymptomatic and latent for many years, becoming carriers of syphilis. Pregnant women with syphilis can be transmitted to the next generation through the placenta, which poses a significant risk.
Regarding the self-evaluation of syphilis, sexually transmitted disease experts say that after being infected with syphilis, it is called early syphilis within 4 years and has a strong infectivity. Treponema pallidum enters the human body and has a latent period of about 3-4 weeks. Most of them will develop a "hard chancre" on the genitalia, initially only the size of a broad bean and appearing in a circular or elliptical shape. At first, there are lumps, with redness around them and gradual ulceration in the middle. They are flat and dark red, with a thin and hard layer of gray black scab on the surface. The surrounding edges are raised and hard, and the ulcer bottom is flat. If there is no pyogenic infection, it will not suppurate. The color and shape of the sore are similar to those of bayberries, and the secretion from the ulcerated surface contains a lot of Treponema pallidum.
2、 Methods for preventing syphilis in men
1. Eliminate unclean sexual intercourse.
One important thing for male friends to prevent syphilis is to resolutely prevent the occurrence of unclean sexual intercourse.
2. Develop good hygiene habits.
Firstly, male friends must develop good hygiene habits to prevent syphilis infection. Bathing in public bathrooms without hygiene protection, not sharing handkerchiefs, razors, tableware, etc., and coming into contact with contaminated clothing and utensils from patients can also infect syphilis.
3. Conduct necessary syphilis tests before marriage.
For both unmarried men and women, it is also necessary to undergo necessary syphilis tests before marriage and pregnancy checks for women after marriage. Pregnant women infected with syphilis can transmit syphilis to the fetus in the abdomen through the placenta, and can also infect newborns through the birth canal. Therefore, premarital and prenatal examinations are important means to eliminate the birth of syphilis babies.
