Can Excessive Drinking Lead to Sexual Dysfunction? Contraindications to Drinking in Patients with Sexual Dysfunction
Among the patients who drink heavily, about 50% of men suffer from erectile dysfunction, and about 10% of men suffer from ejaculation dysfunction. In the months or years after abstinence, only a few men can resume their normal sexual life. Therefore, heavy drinking will seriously affect men.
The sexual dysfunction caused by heavy drinking is secretory dysfunction. Non-alcoholic men can measure the decrease of testosterone level in the blood by drinking 200 ml per day. A large amount of alcohol can lead to male alcoholic hypogonadism, testicular atrophy, androgen degeneration, decreased libido, impotence, and ultimately infertility. Therefore, alcohol consumption has a great impact on male sexual function.
Many diseases are related to heavy drinking, such as hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, etc., and can also cause sexual dysfunction such as sexual desire disorder, erectile dysfunction, ejaculatory dysfunction, etc.
1、 Liver detoxification function damage leads to sexual dysfunction. Drinking a lot of alcohol can damage the liver, cause chronic alcoholic liver disease, and eventually develop into liver cirrhosis. The liver is the detoxifying organ. Once the liver function is damaged, many harmful substances in the body cannot be eliminated, which will lead to other organs being damaged, the sexual center being inhibited, and the secretion imbalance, and then affect the male sexual function.
2. Sexual nerve conduction disease causes erectile dysfunction. Heavy drinking can lead to chronic alcoholism and neuropathy. Once there is no sexual nerve conduction or nerve conduction is weakened, it will cause sexual dysfunction.
