Chronic cervicitis is a common gynecological disease that requires attention and active and effective treatment after illness. Chronic cervicitis cannot be self cured.
Can chronic cervicitis be cured
Chronic cervicitis cannot be cured. Chronic cervicitis generally requires treatment to recover, and if not completely treated, there is a high likelihood of recurrence in a short period of time.
Treatment methods for chronic cervicitis
1. Drug treatment: Local drug treatment is suitable for cases with small erosion area and shallow infiltration due to heat. Previously, silver nitrate or chromic acid corrosion was applied locally, but now it is rarely used. Traditional Chinese medicine has many examination formulas and prescriptions, and its clinical application has certain therapeutic effects. Cervical erosion is related to some viruses and Chlamydia trachomatis infection, and is also a factor inducing cervical cancer. Interferon is an immune substance released by cells after infection with a virus, while interferon A is an interferon produced by virus induced white blood cells. Recombinant human a2a interferon (OPIN) has antiviral, anti-tumor, and immunomodulatory activities. Before bedtime, one capsule is inserted deep into the vagina, close to the cervix, once every other day, seven times as a course of treatment, and can be reused. The method is simple and has no obvious side effects. In recent years, the drugs used to treat cervical erosion are all local medications. However, if it is cervical inflammation, the appearance of the cervix is smooth, and there is purulent discharge in the cervical canal. Local medication for inflammation is ineffective, and systemic treatment should be given. While the culture of cervical secretion and drug sensitivity test were conducted, Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Chlamydia trachomatis were searched, and corresponding anti infective drugs were used according to the examination results.
2. Physical methods: Physical therapy refers to the use of various physical methods to destroy the epithelium of cervical erosion, causing necrosis and detachment of the erosion surface, and covering the newly formed flat epithelium. Generally, it takes 6-8 weeks for the cervix to become smooth. Physical therapy methods include laser therapy, ironing therapy, cryotherapy, microwave therapy, and beam therapy.
3. Surgical treatment: Cervical polyps can be removed and sent for pathological examination. Cervical cone resection is feasible for patients with deep, wide, and cervical erosion. Traditional methods have more bleeding and are less commonly used, but circular resection is currently effective. Asymptomatic small cervical gland cysts cannot be treated. When the cyst is large or complicated with infection, electrocautery, microwave or laser irradiation can be used to puncture the cyst and expel it. Local medication for cervical mucositis is ineffective and requires systemic medication. Antibiotics should be selected based on the cultivation of cervical secretions and drug sensitivity tests.
