Can Bartholin's cyst be treated surgically? What are the postoperative nursing measures for Bartholin's cyst
Bartholin's cyst can occur in our daily life. After illness, we must treat it immediately. Generally, it is mainly surgical treatment, but it must be carried out according to the patient's condition.
1、 Treatment of Bartholin's cyst
1. Surgical treatment:
(1) Small cysts do not require surgery and are regularly followed up. Large cysts with obvious symptoms or recurrent pain or abscess formation should undergo incision and drainage surgery to maintain glandular function after surgery. At present, many Bartholin's cyst stomas have replaced the previous method of cyst dissection. This method is simple, with minimal damage, minimal bleeding, and can preserve glandular function. However, the stoma must be large enough. After the ostomy, a drainage strip was placed and the capsule cavity was cleaned with hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) or 2% iodine once a day, a total of 3-4 times, to prevent postoperative adhesion and closure, and the formation of cysts again.
(2) Postoperative hip bath with 1:5000 Potassium permanganate solution can prevent the use of antibiotics or alternative cleaning with 2% iodophor solution and 0.5% Metronidazole solution. Fill with iodophor wire and replace every 2-3 days.
2. Other special treatments: In recent years, CO2 laser ostomy has been used for treatment, with high treatment rate, no adverse reactions, simple operation, and short treatment time. Patients can be treated in outpatient settings without the need for wound suturing or hospitalization. Due to the high thermal effect of laser, tissue cells can quickly coagulate and carbonize, and the laser has an affinity for hemoglobin. Therefore, it has good coagulation effect, minimal intraoperative and postoperative bleeding, can preserve normal gland function, has no impact on sexual quality, has no infection after surgery, and does not require the use of antibiotics.
2、 Surgical treatment of Bartholin's cyst
1. An examination was conducted on the external genitalia and it was found that there was redness and swelling at the labia vulva. The pain was unbearable when touched by hand. The swollen area has formed a lump, containing swollen pus. The diagnosis was Bartholin's cyst.
2. The doctor cut open the cyst and cultured the pus under a microscope to determine the phenomenon of cyst caused by pathogen infection.
3. Perform incision cleaning to avoid re infection of pathogenic bacteria in the wound. Then take antibiotics to anti-inflammatory the wound, cool the external genitalia, stay in bed, and do not move around. Also pay attention to local cleaning.
4. After the surgery, the external genitalia relaxes, recuperates, and the cyst disappears.
3、 Precautions after operation of Bartholin's cyst
1. After the operation of Bartholin's cyst, pay attention to hygiene, change underwear, prohibit working in the room, and avoid spicy and greasy food. It usually takes at least 2 weeks.
