What are the symptoms of gonorrhea in women
Gonococcal urethritis often occurs 3-5 days after infection with Neisseria gonorrhoeae. At this time, the symptoms at various locations are:
(1) Urethral pain: redness and swelling of the external genitalia, dampness, presence of serous or purulent secretions, burning or painful urination in the urethra, difficulty urinating, severe urination pain, and difficulty urinating can often cause hematuria.
(2) Leucorrhea odor: There are occasional blood spots in the messy area, and at this time, vaginal secretions can contain blood or appear as purulent vaginal discharge, with a foul odor, and can cause lower abdominal pain or back pain. Acid fast staining of cervical secretions can detect gonococcal bacteria. Due to the high concentration of bacteria that pollute private areas and cause friction, it can cause redness, swelling, inflammation, and erosion of the external genitalia.
(3) Private symptoms: redness, swelling, and pain in the vestibular glands and external genitalia. The opening of the vestibular gland on both sides of the vagina is prone to inflammation due to the pollution of the concentrated fluid discharged from the vagina and urethra; When severe, vestibular gland cysts can occur.
Warm hearted advice:
The active symptoms of women include urinary pain, inability to hold urine, frequent urination, urgency, and burning sensation of the urethra, but they are mild and may not be present. Physical examination showed swelling and hematoma at the external urethral and vaginal opening, with purulent secretions. The vestibular gland could also be swollen and painful, and the test revealed gonococcal infection. This disease often coexists with secondary cervicitis.
What are the symptoms of gonorrhea in men
(1) Urinary pain. The initial symptoms of the disease are often present. There is a burning sensation, stinging or burning pain on the anterior side of the urethra, and the pain significantly increases during urination, even radiating towards the lower abdomen or spine. During nighttime pain, patients can experience painful hardening of the male genitalia.
(2) The urethral opening is swollen and purulent. After 12 to 24 hours, the pain slightly alleviated and a relatively thin mucinous secretion was initially released in large amounts. After 12 to 24 hours, a lot of purulent secretion was released, and within 24 hours, 20 to 50ml of pus could be released. After 2-3 days, the amount of pus measured is small and thick, with the color changing from milky white to yellowish white or brownish brown. After 3-4 days, the pus becomes less and more viscous. In the morning, due to the accumulation of thick liquid at the urethral opening, a pus film is formed, which is called livelihood maintenance. The pain is relieved, and the urethral opening is swollen, showing an everted shape. The foreskin is too long and the inner lobe is also swollen, and it can develop into balanitis, incarcerated foreskin is too long, and so on.
(3) Frequent urination leads to incomplete urination. Similar to general urinary system infections, this inflammation causes dilation and contraction of the urethra, with frequent urination and incomplete urination occurring at night. In addition, due to the spread of inflammation to the small capillaries of the mucosa at this point, terminal hematuria often occurs. Sometimes there may be blood semen.
(4) Pain and swelling of the external genitalia. In clinical medicine, there is pain in the external genitalia, which reminds us that the disease has increased and affects the posterior urethra, male prostate, and seminal vesicles.
(5) Full of symptoms. Some patients may also have symptoms throughout their body, such as burning (body temperature around 38 ℃), fatigue, discomfort, lack of appetite, and even nausea and vomiting.
Warm hearted advice:
When not urinating for a long time, or when waking up in the morning, there is water or thinner mucus discharged from the urethral edge. Sometimes there is a scab like plastic film sealing the urethral edge, or there is dirt on the underwear, which should be treated immediately.
