Is it unhealthy to have inconsistent menstrual periods every month? Exceeding this time indicates ovarian decline
Menstruation is a barometer of women's health. Generally speaking, every woman undergoes menstruation once a month, and the timing of menstruation is basically fixed. Occasionally being late or a few days early is also normal. However, if the monthly menstrual period is not consistent, are you also worried about any health issues? What should I do if my menstrual period is not fixed? Is it abnormal to have inconsistent menstrual periods?
Is it unhealthy to have inconsistent menstrual periods every month?
Isn't monthly menstruation time necessarily abnormal? Before answering this question, it is necessary to know what the menstrual cycle is. The menstrual cycle refers to the interval between the first day of menstruation. This time is generally 28 days, with a 7-day variation allowed, so it is normal for the cycle to be within 21-35 days.
Of course, if some women have a cycle of nearly 40 days, but their menstrual cycle is regular every time, then there's no big problem. 21-35 days is just a rough estimate, the key is the rules.
It should be pointed out here that although the menstrual cycle has a fluctuation time of 7 days, each fluctuation cannot exceed 7 days. In the short term, if the menstrual cycle changes for more than 7 days, the ovaries begin to deteriorate.
In addition, when the menstrual cycle is too short and very frequent, this group of women must pay attention. This also indicates problems with the ovaries, inadequate luteal function, and insufficient regularity in the secretion of estrogen and pregnancy hormones. Therefore, inconsistent menstrual periods are not unhealthy manifestations, as long as the cycle is regular, there is no major problem. However, if the cycle is too short, it must be taken seriously.
These conditions indicate menstrual abnormalities
In addition to menstrual cycle abnormalities, women must also pay attention to the next menstrual cycle abnormality.
1. Excessive or short menstrual period
Generally speaking, the time for menstruation is 3-7 days, and occasionally one or two more or less days are regular and not a problem. However, if the duration of each menstrual cycle is very short, the estrogen in the body may decrease or there may be problems with the endometrium. Conversely, if the duration of menstruation is too long, there are many possibilities. Therefore, it is recommended that women with prolonged menstruation undergo immediate examination.
2. Excessive or insufficient menstrual flow
Menstrual volume can also reflect whether menstruation is normal. The normal menstrual flow is 40-50ml, and the number of sanitary napkins used per month can be used to determine whether it is normal. Generally, 20 sanitary napkins are used per month as the benchmark. If the number of monthly sanitary napkins exceeds this value, it indicates excessive menstruation. Conversely, if there is insufficient menstruation, it may be due to uterine adhesions or decreased estrogen levels; If there is excessive menstruation, it may be due to endometrial lesions or uterine space occupying.
